Born in Papua New Guinea, Kaiit bounced back and forth between Australia and her homeland as a child before her family eventually settled down in Melbourne.After coming her first single ‘Natural Woman’ went viral, Kaiit shook up the world of future-soul and RnB. She was named as one the best rappers under 25 by Red Bull Music, sharing the list with artists such as Joey Bada$$ and Chance the Rapper. Kaiit’s single ‘OG Luv Kush p.2’ clocked over 2 million views on Youtube and was shown plenty of love from multiple international radio stations and playlists, including being praised by Soulection’s very own, Jarreau Vandal. At only 21 years old, 2018 proved to be a significant year for Kaiit. Her debut EP ‘Live From Her Room’ released that year, attracted worldwide attention, gaining over 4 million streams on Spotify alone. To promote the EP, Kaiit travelled across Australia and New Zealand on a sold out 13 date National Tour and multiple festival appearances.
Significant milestones from the young and rising star include making the 2019 Youtube shortlist, nominated for Best Female Musician for the 2018 Age awards, featuring on Beats One with Zane Lowe, and was the highly sought after artist at Big Sound in 2018.
