Myshaan is a Māori soul and R&B artist from Hamilton, New Zealand, recognized for his smooth vocals and heartfelt lyrics. His music blends contemporary R&B with Pacific influences, reflecting his cultural roots and earning him a growing fanbase in New Zealand and beyond.

Raised in a musical family with a church background, Myshaan developed his love for music early. He has cited Māori and Pacific artists as inspirations, shaping his soulful sound. Between 2021 and 2023, he served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Pacific, immersing himself in diverse cultures and languages, which deeply influenced his artistry.

Myshaan debuted independently in 2018 with his album Posters, followed by Midnight Soul in 2019. Both projects highlight his introspective songwriting and knack for soulful melodies, recorded and produced from his home studio. His hands-on approach ensures creative authenticity, resonating with listeners through themes of love, identity, and resilience.

Key tracks include ‘Sway’ (2023), a viral hit on TikTok celebrating Pacific culture, featuring Tahitian ukulele for an oceanic vibe. Other notable songs are ‘Grateful for the Rain’ (with Strive to Be and Huia Shortland), a reflective collaboration; ‘Magic’ a romantic ballad; and ‘Hold On Me’(with Neko), exploring love’s highs and lows. His bilingual track ‘Carry My Heart / Mositi Au (Fijian) (with Kali Tui) showcases his versatility, blending English and Fijian. Earlier singles like ‘Breathing’ (2021) further demonstrate his emotional range.

Myshaan’s music often honors his Māori heritage and Pacific connections, with ‘Sway’ striking a chord in communities across Hawaii and the Cook Islands. His mission experiences inform his lyrics, creating a bridge between cultures. While no new albums are confirmed for 2025, he remains active on platforms like YouTube, SoundCloud, and TikTok, engaging fans with his evolving sound.

As an independent artist, Myshaan continues to build his presence, focusing on authentic storytelling. His commitment to cultural pride and soulful expression positions him as a promising voice in R&B, with fans eagerly awaiting his next releases.
