Brandn Shiraz

Cook Island native and Tamaki Makaurau based artist Brandn Shiraz is a prominent figure in the scene, having first released music as part of Karangahape Road’s Grow Room in 2015 under the duo Shiraz & LSJ. After the debut release of his self-titled EP, he now holds notable collaborations under his belt, featured on tracks with local legends such as Troy Kingi, Home Brew, MOKOMOKAI and Christoph El Truento; where he continues to weave his unique and braggadocious lyricism throughout the tapestry of hip hop in Aotearoa.
 
Named by Rolling Stone as one of ‘eight artists tipped to take over’, his prolific output only continues to grow. His most recent achievements include being chosen to be part of the 2025 APRA AMCOS 9th Wonder (Kendrick Lamar, Destiny’s Child) curated SongHubs, where he joined forced with producer Choicevaughan and Chase Woods to form new hip-hop trio Yonder, resulting in them signing with 9th Wonder’s label Jamla Records.
 
Alongside producer and DJ Caru, Shiraz continues to show his commitment to pushing creative boundaries, releasing UK dance inspired projects Back 2 Back and Two for Two, a full-circle ode to his heritage, and a sign of only more to come.
