George 'Fiji' Veikoso - widely known simply as Fiji - was a ground-breaking Pacific artist whose career transformed island music into a global force. Born in Fiji in 1970 and relocating to Hawai‘i at age 14, he developed a signature sound blending reggae, R&B, and traditional Pacific influences. His golden voice and expansive musical repertoire launched him onto the world stage as a pioneer of the Lost Coast Sound. Fiji was one of the most original and dynamic entertainers the Pacific Rim has ever produced, and he continues to be one of the most influential artists in contemporary Island Reggae music, despite his devastating passing in 2025.
 
Throughout his career Fiji earned major accolades, including multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, and gained international recognition through multicultural collaborations and a Grammy-nominated project. His music, with beloved songs like ‘Lia’, resonated deeply across generations, carrying themes of love, unity, and cultural pride.
