News release: April 2021 The Pacific Music Awards Trust is very happy to announce that the 2021 Pacific Music Awards, will be held on Wednesday 1 September at the Vodafone Events Centre, Auckland, New Zealand. During the challenging year of 2020, the Pacific Music Awards Trust were dedicated to celebrating Pacific music, supporting Pacific artists and keeping our community connected. We proudly produced the 2020 Pacific Music Awards as an online presentation on 3 October, honouring our amazing 2020 finalists, award recipients and Pacific music community. The late awards presentation in 2020, has impacted the 2021 timeline, but the Trust are excited about working on the 2021 ceremony, with plans to return to a live event. The Trust also hopes to return to their usual timing in 2022. The 2021 Pacific Music Awards will celebrate music released in 2020, with the ceremony providing the opportunity to honour the achievements and success of our current Pacific artists and also pay tribute to our legacy and developing artists. Nominations for all the entered award categories are for local Pacific artists, i.e. New Zealand citizens/residents, except for the Best International Pacific Artist Award, which is open to Pacific artists from overseas. Pacific artists who have released singles, EPs or albums for sale, during 1 January – 31 December 2020, will be eligible to enter, with nominations due by Monday 3 May 2021.
